Ti ft Rihanna-Live your Life-Special insight

Live your Life-

As you know Ti and Rihanna's tune, live your life, has made the number 3 spot in the charts this week. Today I'm gonna give you a bit more info, a little look behind the making of the song if you like.
Live your life is off Ti's sixth album, Paper Trail. It officially premiered at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards during Ti's performance there.

The song has a sample of O-Zone's Dragostea din tei which I think was a very interesting addition to the song. I've read that some people in the music 'biz' think that it ruins the song but I just think that it makes it more complex. Another clever feature of the song was when Rihanna came in with the lyrics just before the O-Zone bit ended giving the beginning of the main part of the song an interesting layered feel to it.

This song was submitted to the bbc on the 15th of October 2008 and was immediately placed on the B list to be promoted to the A list later on in the month of November. I find it amazing that a song with so much potential was just flung over to the B list without any though from the bbc, carelessness is what I'd call it.

Live your lie debuted at 80th in the HOT 100 but broke many records the next week when it rocketed from 80th, all the way down to claim the number one spot in the HOT 100. The HOT
100 is simply judged on airplay so this must have been the week that the bbc promoted the tune to the A list. When Live your life came to number one it knocked off Ti's other song, Whatever you like. This made Ti the 9th ever artist to knock themselves from the number 1 spot in the HOT 100. This was the first time this had happened since 2004 when Usher did the same.

Finally i'll mention the only remix of this song made so far which is- Chamillionaire-Texas 4 Life.I'll put the youtube link for Texas 4 Life below.

Hope you enjoyed this post and found it interesting!

30th Nov 08 Chart

The Chart-

10-Girls Aloud-the promise
Mixed feelings about this one, It's a bit to sweetie for my taste at the moment. Lovey-dovey is a better phrase. The lyrics are un-imaginative and pretty lame along with a boring tune. Not very impressive Girls.
Links-

9-Akon-right now (nananana)
Nice song, good beat, memorable lyrics although its nothing outstanding or that hasn't been done before. Following suit with his other songs with this one.
Links-

8-X-Factor finalists-hero
A huge achievement for members of the public to have come together through X-Factor and produce a song that's good enough for the top ten. Gone down from second place last week.
Personally I don't like the song and I don't think it should be in the top ten, maybe 20+. Other people must like it though, otherwise it wouldn't be in the top ten.
Links-

7-Britney Spears-womanizer
Not keen at all about this track whatsoever I think that it is boring and repetitive and that the beat is about as original as sliced bread. Pathetic attempt in my opinion, I honestly can't think of
anything good about this at all, apart from it might, just about, entertain a one and a half year old.
Links-

6-Alesha Dixon-the boy does nothing
When I heard this song first I was almost confused, I just couldn't make up my mind whether I liked it or not. In the end I decided that it wasn't likable nor was it dis-likable. It's average, it's mediocre.
Links-

5-Katy Perry-Hot 'n' Cold
This is the first of the top ten that I really like. This song uses catchy and memorable beats to draw the listener in and have then sub-consciously taking in the lyrics and tune. In the end you just keeping singing it over and over again until it drives you mad. On a scale of catchyness, 1
being lowest ten being highest, it would get a 12.5.

4-The Killers-human
Not keen on this song either, I find it to be only skin deep and easy to read. Almost completely
loses my interest after the first minute and ten seconds due to its snore factor. There's something about this song that makes me want to smash the radio, CD, MP3 or mobile that I hear it on.

3-Ti ft Rihanna-live your life
The one bright star coming from this weeks otherwise mediocre chart. This song has everything, a great beat, catchy tune, meaningful lyrics and excellent vocals from both Rihanna and Ti. They've even thrown in a bit of miaahee miaahoo miaahaha or good measure. I could listen to this song over and over again, it's brilliant. Definite recommendation from me here. Don't miss out!

2-Beyonce-if i were a boy
This song sends me to sleep, but not because its boring but because it could be used as a lullaby for babies to fall asleep to. A lovely tune to hear, a good phrase to use would be 'music to my ears'. Beautiful song.

1-Take that-greatest day
Nice tune, quite relaxing and peaceful. I think this one will be a Take That classic in a few years. I admire Take That for their unique sound and style that no one else seems able to do. Well deserved place at number one.

23rd November 08 Charts

Charts-10 to 1-

10 - Leona Lewis-forgive me
Forgive me opens with Akon's-convict and then enters into a catchy chorus. In this song Leona uses her range of pitches magically and that is the reason why its number 10 in the charts.
Links-

9 - Britney Spears-womanizer
Womanizer is not really my type of music and to be honest I don't think that it deserves the 9th spot in the charts this week. I can see how people find it catchy since the constant electronic beat coming at you in waves does get your attention but with me, not the right attention.
Links-

8 - Guru Josh Project-infinity 2008
Guru Josh has made the perfect mix of computerised sounds and percussion instruments and, unlike Britney, has produced a rather good piece here. One thing I will say though is that the lyrics sound strange in that strong english accent of his.

Youtube vid(no music vid here)-http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uP7SXz3CxvI

7 - Girls Aloud-the promise
I have mixed feelings about this song since I don't usually like girl bands but this song is slowly growing on me. I'm not sure about the lyrics, I think they're abit lovey-dovey and boring but I do like the beats of the song.

6 - Alesha Dixon-the boy does nothing
There is no doubt the Alesha Dixon's music is very cutie but also well written and catchy. The video for this song is also okay. I do fear that this song is bordering on the lamely average. I feel a sense of dejavu when listening to this song. It's been done before. She's done better.
Links-

5 - Katy Perry-hot'n'cold
This song is one of my favorites yet on this weeks list not because I like the song in general but just because I like the lyrics and the elctro beat that Katey has added to this, otherwise girly song. Surely this electro beat has aided both Katey's songs hugely, the first of which(I kissed a girl) was number one for a number of weeks.

4 - Ti ft Rihanna-live your life
By far my fave of the list so far. Live your life mixes a rap element, an R'n'B element and a pop element producing a song or every taste. It also mixes in a bit of miaahoo miaahaa miaahaha for good measure. This song has everything for everyone making it a big hit. My prediction is for this one to be number one by Sunday
 30th.

3 - The Killers-human
Meeeh, not my thing. This song doesn't exite me whatsoever but don't let that stop you from watching the vid or from visiting the site.
Links-

2 - X-Factor finalists-hero
A big achievment indeed for the young X-Factor finalists to be at the number 2 spot but do they deserve it?
...No not in my opinion, the old version of the song was better and wasn't ruined by in-expierienced voices. Good for them though.
Links-

1 - Beyonce-if I were a boy
This melodic tune has a place in everyones mind. The relaxing style of this song almost forces you to love it. Deserved the place at number one this week. Very good.
